About this Blog
Over the last few years, my spiritual journey has taken me in some unexpected and interesting terrains … terrains that I didn’t expect to walk in, and haven’t always found particularly easy. And yet I couldn’t shake the sense that God was leading me to walk this path.
A few years ago I was a good evangelical-charismatic church leader … well perhaps good is not quite right, as I was always the annoying one that asked all the questions and couldn’t quite accept the all answers I was given. I didn’t always do the questioning that well, and I was misunderstood, but I didn’t really understand myself either!
Over the last few years I have come to realise that this is how I am wired, and so wanted to create a forum where I could “put out there” some of the questions I was asking or thinking about (knowing the I only see part of the story) at least partly to help me understand the terrain that I am walking in.
I also hope it will help others who are walking a similar path, who can no longer be defined or constrained by evangelicalism, but are grateful for our roots; who are finding hope in surprising corners of the Christian World (and discovering that it is rather larger than we first thought).
All this is to say that I hope this is place for honest discussion and conversation, an exchanging of ideas and experiences on the Way, and learning together. It would be great to have you part of the journey.
Lurking policy:
To all you lurkers out there, I was once you, silently seeing what others were writing, but never quite being able to post some thoughts. Feel free to continue lurking, but it would be great if you felt able to contribute to the discussion.
So, to create a safe place for all to comment, those posting comments agree to:
- Be kind to one another in what we say. We can disagree with each other, but will endeavour to do so with gentleness and respect. Any personal attacks, sarcasm and other under handed way of scoring points against another will be removed.
- Not be anonymous. You can use a pseudonym, but to own your comments under that name. You will need to put in an email address (which only I, the keeper of the rules, will see). I will not disclose your real identity to other commentators.
- To read your comments on current posts, to thank you for taking the time to comment, and to respond as soon as is possible. That might be me, but I hope that others will engage with you too, so that conversation doesn’t revolve around me (how tiresome would that be?). Feel free to comment on older posts; I will read your comment but please don’t be offended if it doesn’t get responded to.
