Last week has been a busy week, and I haven’t posted much, or responded to comments as quickly as I would like. Sorry about that folks.
Amongst other things I have been taking my blogging time in setting up a new blogging platform (Wordpress) which I will have up and running in a couple of weeks. I will transfer over all the posts and comments from this site at some point, so all our conversations won’t be lost. I hope it will be a better site for keeping track of all the different discussions going on. More info on that to follow, and I will let you know when I have fully set up and transferred to the new site.
The next two weeks I am not going to be online much, and at points I will not have internet access. So I might post another one or two posts during this time, but may not reply to comments as quick as I would normally like to. Full service will resume on 16th April!!!!

Can you briefly blog on your reasons for switching to wordpress? It it just better all round?
Yes i think so, but still free. Typepad you have to pay for. Wordpress does seem to take a bit of setting up … it has plugins you have to load, so a little knowledge does help, but here are some of the things i have been looking for:
* RSS feed for comments as well as posts
* list of recent comments
* able to have some pages (at top) with useful info that never changes)
* categories that cascade …. so i can have a few main categories, but lots of sub categories.
* i have a plugin that allows for people to get an email with all additional comments, if they have left a comment on a post.
* i can now have threaded comments - ie people can reply to the original post, or to a comment that someone makes.
* it is much more customizable than blogger (themes etc)
I hope it will help everyone keep track of the discussions going on better, and provide a better user experience!
